Job summary

Kent is seeking a motivated Human Resources Coordinator to join our Houston, TX team. This role focuses on coordinating HR activities, ensuring policy consistency, and supporting staff across corporate and field sites.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in HR preferred with 2+ years HR support experience.
  • Reduced turnover and smooth onboarding experience experience.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Oracle preferred).
  • Excellent English communication and strong confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for corporate and field teams; support a wide range of workforce segments.
  • Coordinate onboarding steps, pre-employment, orientation, system access, and ramp-ups for high-volume hires.
  • Support offboarding, exit procedures, system deactivation, and asset recovery.
  • Collaborate with IT and Facilities to ensure smooth new-hire setups and offboarding.
  • Provide HR support for field-based and craft personnel including policy guidance and issue resolution.
  • Perform HR lifecycle transactions (hires, terminations, transfers, compensation changes) in Oracle HCM; communicate with stakeholders.
  • Monitor policy adherence and assist with SOP development and HR workflows.
  • Draft compliant HR communications for promotions, rate changes, transfers, etc.
  • Guide employees through leave processes (FMLA, STD/LTD, ADA) balancing compliance and empathy.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and data integrity in HR systems.

About the job:

Kent is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our team in Houston, TX. This role is based out of our home office and includes occasional visits to project sites. This position plays a key role in coordinating HR activities, ensuring consistent application of policies, programs, and employee support.

The ideal candidate will be a highly capable and adaptable HR professional who can:

  • Thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments, especially those involving heavy onboarding activity, workforce ramp-ups, frequent employee movement, and transactional HR execution.
  • Support a workforce with a unique combination of professional employees and remote project sites with field professionals and craft labor.

We’re looking for someone who can drive consistent, efficient HR operations while navigating changing priorities, supporting diverse teams, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures.

Skills and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for corporate and field teams. Manage day-to-day HR activity with varying needs, supporting a wide range of workforce segments.
  • Support onboarding efforts for new hires, coordinating pre-employment steps, orientation and onboarding, system access, and deployment logistics for high-volume workforce ramp-ups.
  • Support offboarding efforts for departing employees, coordinating exit procedures, system access deactivation, and asset recovery.
  • Partner with IT and Facilities to ensure smooth setups for new hires and seamless offboarding for departures.
  • Provide HR support for field-based and craft personnel, including onboarding, policy guidance, job changes, and issue resolution. Build trust with frontline supervisors and project teams.
  • Execute employee lifecycle transactions (hires, terminations, transfers, compensation changes, etc.), ensuring data accuracy within Oracle HCM and timely communication with key stakeholders.
  • Monitor adherence to internal policies and external regulations. Support development and improvement of SOPs, HR workflows, and policy documentation.
  • Draft clear and compliant HR communications such as notifications to employees related to promotions, rate changes, transfers, etc.
  • Guide employees through leave processes including FMLA, STD/LTD, and ADA accommodations, balancing compliance with empathetic support.
  • Keep our HR operations running smoothly every day, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a seamless experience for all team members.
  • Be a trusted point of contact for employees, providing timely, friendly, and solutions-focused HR support.
  • Enter, update, and maintain accurate employee data in HR system of record and related databases, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with company and legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including employment and consulting contracts, helping keep our people data organized and compliant.
  • Create a positive first impression by coordinating onboarding activities, gathering required documentation, facilitating orientations, and ensuring new hires have everything they need from day one.
  • Support in creating employee communications, such as change of employment condition letters, offboarding letters, etc.
  • Support ongoing compliance programs such as drug & alcohol screenings, trainings and policy adherence.
  • Help organize and support wellness, inclusion, and belonging initiatives—creating opportunities for team members to connect, grow, and feel valued.
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc HR reports, using insights to support better decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to broader HR projects, trainings and initiatives that promote engagement, growth, and operational excellence.
  • Deliver every task with a focus on people—ensuring HR services are not only timely and accurate but also meaningful and supportive.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad‑hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources preferred or related field with 2+ years Human Resources support experience.
  • Understand Employment Standards and HR best practices.
  • Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and high‑paced environments.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Oracle is preferred).
Communication:
  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required.
