Job summary

Logan Services in Dayton, OH is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to support the employee lifecycle from recruiting to onboarding and engagement. The role offers hands-on experience across HR operations while collaborating with managers and staff.

You will help maintain HR records, coordinate onboarding, assist with employee communications, and contribute to programs that build a positive, well‑rounded HR function in a growing, family‑owned company.

Qualifications

The Big Task

As a Human Resources Coordinator , you'll help support employees throughout the entire employee lifecycle—from the moment a candidate applies through onboarding, engagement, development, and beyond.

You'll work across multiple areas of HR, giving you the opportunity to develop a well-rounded HR skill set while making a direct impact on the employee experience.

You'll work closely with employees, managers, candidates, and other departments, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys people, variety, and staying busy.

What You'll Do
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

Help Logan attract and hire the people who will help us continue to grow.

  • Coordinate recruiting activities, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interview scheduling, and applicant communication.
  • Conduct initial phone screens and help move qualified candidates through the hiring process.
  • Partner with hiring managers throughout recruiting and selection.
  • Maintain accurate applicant tracking system and recruiting records.
  • Build relationships with trade schools, workforce development organizations, and recruiting partners.
  • Support career fairs, hiring events, and employer branding initiatives.
  • Help identify new ways to attract qualified candidates.
Onboarding & Employee Experience

Help make sure every new employee gets off to a great start.

  • Coordinate the onboarding process from offer acceptance through new hire orientation.
  • Prepare onboarding materials and ensure new hires have a smooth first day.
  • Help employees navigate the beginning of their Logan career.
  • Coordinate offboarding activities, exit documentation, and company asset recovery.
  • Support a positive employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle.
Employee Engagement & Internal Communications

Help create a workplace where employees feel informed, appreciated, and connected.

  • Coordinate employee recognition programs, service anniversaries, birthdays, and appreciation initiatives.
  • Assist with employee events, engagement activities, and company celebrations.
  • Create newsletters, announcements, and other HR communications.
  • Support employer branding and HR-related social media initiatives.
  • Help bring new ideas to life that improve the employee experience.
HR Administration & Employee Support

Keep the details organized while being a resource for employees and managers.

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding benefits, PTO, policies, onboarding, and HR programs.
  • Maintain accurate employee personnel files and HR records.
  • Coordinate uniform ordering, inventory, and clothing allowance administration.
  • Track employee certifications, licenses, training records, EPA certifications, and NATE certifications.
  • Assist with HR reporting and administrative processes.
  • Support HR projects, process improvements, and other initiatives as needed.
What We’re Looking For

We're looking for someone who is organized, dependable, people-focused, and willing to take ownership.

Required Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in Human Resources, recruiting, talent acquisition, administrative support, customer service, or a related field.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong follow-through and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting recruiting and hiring processes.
  • Experience using an HRIS or applicant tracking system.
  • Experience in HVAC, plumbing, construction, manufacturing, skilled trades, home services, or another fast-paced operational environment.
  • Interest in building a long-term career in Human Resources.
  • SHRM membership or HR certification coursework is a plus.
