Department Information The Woodruff School graduates high caliber mechanical engineers for a demanding profession. Mechanical engineers are the foundation of today¿s technological world. To do so, we provide enhanced facilities and laboratories to create the best learning environment and we attract outstanding faculty and students. In this period of rapid technological change, the Woodruff School produces mechanical engineers who are vital to our future.

Job Summary

The Human Resource Consultant provides expert guidance and support to organizations on various Human Resource matters, including talent management, compliance, and organizational development. This position emphasizes the assessment of current Human Resource practices, the identification of areas for improvement, and the delivery of customized solutions to meet the unique needs of the institution.

Responsibilities

  • Job Duty 1 - Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing human resource practices to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement within the organization.
  • Job Duty 2 - Provide expert advice on talent management strategies, including recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning, to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Job Duty 3 - Develop customized training and development programs tailored to the specific needs of the institution to foster employee growth and skill enhancement.
  • Job Duty 4 - Facilitate workshops and training sessions for managers and employees on various Human Resource topics, including performance management, leadership development, and employee engagement.
  • Job Duty 5 - Analyze Human Resource metrics and data to provide insights and recommendations that inform strategic decision-making and improve overall human resource functions.
  • Job Duty 6 - Assist in the development and implementation of compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain top talent while aligning with the institution's budget.
  • Job Duty 7 - Serve as a resource for managers and employees by providing guidance on complex Human Resource issues and facilitating effective communication throughout the organization.
  • Job Duty 8 - Prepare detailed reports and presentations that summarize findings, recommendations, and action plans for improving human resource practices and outcomes.
  • Job Duty 9 - Collaborate with leadership to design and implement policies and procedures that ensure compliance with employment laws and industry best practices.
  • Job Duty 10 - Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three or more years of relevant experience.

SKILLS This job requires professional level generalist knowledge of human resources administrative practices including those related to recruitment/staffing, compensation/benefits, employee relations, performance management, training and workforce planning. Skill in the use of office computer applications and HRMS databases is required.
