Overview

ABOUT US:

Founded in 1993, Bayview Asset Management is an investment management firm focused on investments in mortgage and consumer credit, including whole loans, asset-backed securities, mortgage servicing rights, and other credit-related assets.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Huaman Resources Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring Bayview and it's affiliate's adherence to local, state, and federal employment laws by implementing, monitoring, and certifying HR compliance policies, procedures, and controls. This role plays a key part in mitigating organizational risk through process oversight, documentation, and ongoing education. The Manager will lead internal audits and spot checks, manage compliance documentation, and serve as the point of contact for all HR-related regulatory updates.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitor and interpret changes in state and federal employment laws; implement timely updates to internal policies, procedures, and employee handbooks to ensure legal compliance and alignment with organizational practices.
  • Manage the lifecycle of HR-related agreements, including coordination with Legal, usage oversight, and secure document handling
  • Ensure that the Company maintains accurate and compliant personnel records, including regulatory documentation and signed agreements.
  • Conduct department spot checks to ensure HR processes are executed properly; follow up on corrective actions and compliance items.
  • Review Risk Narratives and clear associated flags.
  • Oversee labor law poster compliance, including reviewing and updating postings and liaising with third-party vendors as needed.
  • Support HR leadership by developing compliance training, tracking metrics, and addressing escalated issues.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of mandated reports (e.g., EEO, ADA, ERISA).
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements, and collaborate cross-functionally to integrate compliance into key HR and business processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Human Resources, Business Administration, or Related Field)
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated HR compliance-related experience.
SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal labor and employment laws.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting audits, and risk assessments.
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive data with discretion.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.

LOCATION AND COMPENSATION:

  • This role will be 100% remote or Hybrid (in either Bayview’s Coral Gables, FL or New York, NY office)
  • Base compensation is expected to be $85,000 - $100,000* with the opportunity for bonus compensation

*Salary may vary based on work experience, market conditions, location, and qualifications/training.
