Job summary

Aya Healthcare is seeking an HR Business Partner for an onsite contract role in Rutland, VT. This 13-week assignment runs Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with the potential to extend or transition to permanent employment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of Employee/Labor Relations experience in a Labor Relations, HR Generalist, HR Manager, HR Business Partner, or comparable HR capacity.
  • Strong experience handling employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
  • Experience supporting leaders with employee concerns, performance management, corrective action, and related employee relations matters.
  • Experience reviewing, interpreting, and updating HR policies and procedures.
  • HR certification (such as PHR or SPHR) is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with HRIS and HR-related systems.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a resource for Employee and Labor Relations, partnering with employees, leaders, and the HR team.
  • Conduct workplace and Employee Relations investigations, including fact-finding, documentation, interviews, recommendations, and appropriate follow-through.
  • Support leadership with employee complaints, concerns, grievances, professional conduct matters, and other Employee Relations issues.
  • Advise on performance improvement plans, corrective action, disciplinary matters, and terminations.
  • Coach and counsel leaders on Employee Relations matters to promote consistent application of HR policies and practices.
  • Support labor or union relations, including interpretation of collective bargaining agreements and assistance with grievance processes.
  • Partner closely with the HR Principal Business Partner and other HR team members on Employee and Labor Relations matters.
  • Review, interpret, and assist with updating HR policies, procedures, programs, and related communications.
  • Interpret applicable policies, procedures, and federal and state employment laws to guide appropriate application.
  • Coordinate with Legal and Compliance to determine appropriate handling of employment-related matters.
  • Lead and support performance management discussions to promote consistency across the organization.
  • Document investigation findings and fact-finding activities, provide recommendations to leadership, and ensure appropriate closure of Employee Relations matters.
  • Assist leadership with workforce actions including reorganizations, layoffs, or other workforce changes as needed.
  • Help develop and implement Employee and Labor Relations strategies.
  • Support other HR programs, initiatives, and responsibilities as needed.
