Human Resources Business Partner – Transportation Operations

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the HRBP plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive and compliant work environment, this role will partner closely with our transportation teams, distributed plant managers and supervisors across the entire operations team.

What you’ll do:

Coach managers and supervisors, designing talent approaches to productive teams

Train managers and supervisors on topics such as reasonable accommodation, reasonable suspicion, policy, payroll.

Manage key processes such as performance management, leaves of absences

Respond to employees to address and resolve workplace issues, conflicts, and concerns fairly and objectively, including investigations.

Travel to sites for “stay interviews” as needed.

Collaborate with the People Ops team to support employees on systems, and HR-related issues such as benefits, payroll, and onboarding.

Work with the Recruiting team to ensure hiring criteria support the operational outcomes our sites need in our “peak season.”

Will bolster and deploy learning and training content for people managers

Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations

Maintain HR data, and participates in special projects as needed

What we’re looking for:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

5 years+ working in human resources focused on employee relations, investigations and familiarity with labor laws & regulations

Experience working in manufacturing and/or with a distributed non-exempt workforce

Working understanding of state and federal laws concerning labor relations, especially in California, Oregon and/or Washington

Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies

Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, conflict resolution, and organizational skills, and attention to detail

Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Sound judgment and decision-making skills

Problem analysis and resolution

Discretion, integrity, and confidentiality

Appreciation and understanding for working across different roles and working styles

Experience with UKG Pro is desirable

Location: Remote w/ 15% travel
