Job summary

INEOS Pigments USA, Ashtabula Plant, is hiring a Human Business Partner to provide direction and support in staffing, recruiting, labor contract administration, and HR compliance. You will counsel managers, lead investigations, and drive employee relations initiatives in a manufacturing environment.

The role requires a minimum high school diploma, a bachelor’s in HR preferred, and at least five years of HR experience in manufacturing. Competitive salary and bonus potential are offered.

Responsibilities

  • Support Labor Relations for the Ashtabula Plant 2 facility
  • Interpret contracts and recommend actions on grievances
  • Ensure compliance with EEO, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, HIPAA and NLRA
  • Counsel managers on laws and regulations
  • Investigate policy violations and recommend actions
  • Develop employee relations practices to promote morale
  • Assist with employee communications and feedback
  • Lead job bidding and recruitment to align workforce with goals
  • Interpret HR policies for managers and employees
  • Improve relations by interpreting bargaining unit contracts and policies, coach and counsel
  • Lead confidential investigations on performance issues
  • Manage HR forms – new hire, address changes, pay changes, transfers, beneficiaries, benefits
  • Maintain confidential and non-routine information
  • Interface with all levels of personnel
  • Adhere to 20 principles of process and Behavioral Safety and Life Saving Rules
  • Other duties as assigned

The Human Business Partner provides direction and support to business units in the areas of staffing, recruiting, bargaining unit contract administration, conflict resolution, communication, performance and change management and HR related legal compliance. Support Labor Relations for the Ashtabula Plant 2 facility. This is a salaried exempt day shift position.

Key job responsibilities include:
  • Supports the Labor Relations function at the Ashtabula Plant 2 facility
  • Relies on contract interpretation, previous experience, and impact on plant to suggest recommendations to grievances
  • Complies with and protects employees and the Company relative to all existing governmental and labor laws and government reporting requirements including EEO, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, HIPAA, NLRA and others; counsels managers and superintendents on these laws and regulations and HR issues
  • Investigates policy or procedure violations and makes recommendations on appropriate course of action.
  • Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation
  • Assists with employee communications and feedback through meetings, suggestion programs, focus groups, one-on-one meetings, etc.
  • Leads the job bidding and recruitment process to identify motivated employees to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the Company and the Ashtabula Complex
  • Communicates and interprets HR policies and procedures for managers and employees
  • Improves manager and employee relations by interpreting bargaining unit contract and Company policies and procedures, identifying and clarifying issues, evaluating and implementing solutions, and coaching and counseling
  • Leads confidential and effective investigations relative to employee performance issues
  • Manage HR related forms – new hire, address changes, pay changes, transfer forms, beneficiaries, miscellaneous benefits, etc.
  • Maintains confidential and non-routine information
  • Interfaces effectively with all levels of personnel
  • Adhere to Pigments’ 20 principles of process and Behavioral Safety and Life Saving RulesINEOS
  • Other duties as assigned
About You
You should possess:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred
  • A minimum of five (5) years of prior human resources experience in a manufacturing environment with emphasis on recruitment and employee relations
  • Computer literacy and SAP experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office Software required; HRIS systems preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities or projects simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion.
  • Self-motivation and independent thinking.
Schedule/Hours

This is a salaried exempt day shift position.
