The United States Attorneys' Offices is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to support a team of legal professionals in Washington, DC. You will handle personnel actions, respond to applicants, and guide new employees through orientation on health benefits and retirement programs.

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for a comprehensive suite of Human Resources program areas for the U.S. Department of Justice, Executive Office for U.S. Attorney's in Washington, DC. To be eligible at the GS-05 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions:
One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience working in an office environment and performing administrative duties; handling sensitive or confidential material; reviewing documents for completeness and obtaining additional information as required; establishing and maintaining a variety of files; and entering information into an automated system or database.
A Bachelor's (or equivalent) degree, or four full academic years of post-high school study.
Combination of specialized experience and education. You may qualify if you have a combination of specialized experience as described above and undergraduate education as described above which when combined equal 100% of the requirements.
To be eligible at the GS-06 level, you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level. Specialized experience is defined as processing pre-employment security packets to include scheduling fingerprints and drug tests; assisting with pre-employment processing and on-boarding of civilian employees; reviewing documents for completeness and obtaining additional information as required; establishing and maintaining a variety of civilian personnel files; and entering information into an automated system or database.
To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)
The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
