Job description

You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MIL) in the Command Admin of NAS PATUXENT RIVER.

Duties
  1. You will analyze reports, forms, documentation, and other travel-related information to ensure accurate identification of travel-related entitlements.
  2. You will review and monitor the work performed by junior processors for compliance with military human resource rules, regulations, procedures, and precedents.
  3. You will research pay discrepancies to determine appropriate resolution.
  4. You will update customers on the status of requested information.
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  1. Utilizing knowledge of military policies, procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain military personnel service records;
  2. Researching information in military records and databases in order to respond to inquiries regarding military human resources issues;
  3. Utilizing automated systems to create and maintain military records.
