Summary

The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, including employee orientation, benefits administration, compensation, rewards, and conflict resolution, and enforcing company policies and practices. This role will work for MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain, LLC (MNAe).

MOBIS North America electrified Powertrain LLC (MNAe) is a Tier 1 supplier of BSA and PE systems, which are vital parts to produce electric vehicles, based on state-of-art manufacturing technology related to battery system assembly.

Position Summary

The Assistant Manager of Human Resources helps lead day-to-day HR operations for MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain, LLC (MNAe). Working closely with the Human Resources Manager, this position supports team members and leaders across the organization, provides practical guidance on employee matters, and helps ensure HR processes are handled consistently, accurately, and on time. The role is especially focused on recruiting, attendance and leave administration, performance management, payroll and benefits coordination, HR systems, compliance, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the Human Resources Manager in carrying out HR priorities and ensuring policies, programs, and procedures are applied consistently across the organization.
  • Serve as an accessible HR resource for team members, supervisors, and managers by providing clear guidance on policies, attendance, conduct, performance expectations, and workplace concerns.
  • Review matters promptly and objectively, maintain thorough documentation, and work with leadership to determine appropriate next steps.
  • Coordinate recruiting and hiring activities for hourly and salaried positions, including requisitions, job postings, candidate screening, interviews, offers, pre-employment requirements, orientation, and onboarding.
  • Coordinate HR activities related to payroll, timekeeping, attendance, benefits, leave administration, and employee status changes, checking records and approvals for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support new-hire orientation, required compliance training, leadership development, and other learning programs; maintain accurate participation and completion records.
  • Prepare and review HR reports, audits, and workforce metrics to identify trends, resolve recurring issues, and recommend practical process improvements.
  • Maintain confidential personnel records and ensure HR data, forms, and supporting documentation are complete, accurate, secure, and retained appropriately.
  • Stay informed of applicable employment requirements and help keep MNAe policies, forms, notices, and HR practices current.
  • Support investigations, audits, employee communications, engagement activities, special projects, and cross-functional initiatives involving Operations, Safety, Payroll, Finance, and other departments.
  • Provide HR coverage across shifts as business needs require and serve as the department lead when the Human Resources Manager is unavailable or assigns that responsibility.
  • Handle other responsibilities that support team members, operational needs, and HR department goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Provides daily guidance and support to assigned HR team members, helps balance workloads and priorities, and follows up to ensure commitments are completed accurately and on time. The Assistant Manager coaches employees, shares feedback, supports training and development, and may participate in hiring, scheduling, performance reviews, and corrective action. This role is expected to model professionalism, teamwork, confidentiality, responsiveness, and consistent service to s team members and leaders.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, organizational leadership, or a related field required. A comparable combination of education and directly related HR experience may be considered.
  • At least five years of progressive human resources experience, with hands-on responsibility for employee relations and core HR operations.
  • At least two years of experience leading employees, coordinating the work of an HR team, or managing significant HR projects preferred.
  • Experience supporting an automotive, manufacturing, or other multi-shift operational environment strongly preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or another recognized HR certification preferred, not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Practical knowledge of employment practices and the judgment to apply company policies fairly and consistently.
  • Strong discretion and professionalism when handling confidential records, employee concerns, and sensitive business matters.
  • Ability to coach leaders, work through conflict, conduct objective reviews, and make sound recommendations.
  • Clear, respectful communication skills and the ability to explain HR requirements in a way that is practical and easy to understand.
  • Strong organization and follow-through, with the ability to manage urgent employee needs, routine deadlines, and longer-term projects at the same time.
  • Comfort working with workforce data, identifying trends, and turning findings into useful recommendations for leadership.
  • Proficiency with HR information systems, timekeeping or payroll systems, and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to build trust and work effectively with team members and leaders across departments, job levels, and shifts.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position works in both office and manufacturing settings and regularly moves through operational areas to support team members and leaders. The work includes extended periods at a computer, frequent in-person and electronic communication, and participation in meetings, investigations, orientations, and employee-support activities. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Schedule flexibility, including occasional support outside normal business hours or on different shifts, may be required to meet operational needs.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field of study
  • At least ten years of HR Management experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment

  • Working knowledge of all aspects of employment law, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, new hire orientation, and initial training expectations.
  • Proven ability to develop, deploy, and maintain legally compliant HR Systems.
  • Proven ability to prepare and deliver professional presentations and job-specific training.
  • Proven ability to produce and administer legally compliant job performance improvement plan documents designed to change poor job performance.
  • Ability to write and speak clearly to ensure ongoing legal compliance.
  • Proven ability to exceed expectations with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to write and administer legally compliant handbook policies and procedures.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field of study
  • Experience serving on a 401 (k) Fiduciary Committee and experience with 401 (k) audits
  • Experience in negotiating with third-party benefit consultants to ensure competitive pricing and plan designs

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

Professional HR Certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) or higher
