Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm, this position will work and be paid for 75 hours in a 2-week pay period, ability to go onto a compressed work schedule (working 9 days vs. 10 day) after 6 months of satisfactory job performance

Job Summary
Performs a variety of administrative and support functions with accuracy, confidentiality, and timeliness the efficient and effective operation of the department.
Essential Job Functions
- Provides a variety of administrative and support functions for the department operations including preparing, authorizing, and issuing documents and forms; provides guidance and information regarding departmental services.
- Assists in the onboarding process for all County new hires, including receiving personnel action forms, initiating contact with candidates, coordinating electronic pre-employment communication and requirements including drug testing and background clearances, issuing conditional offer letters, and related tasks.
- Prepares new hire orientation packets, ensuring all forms are accurately printed, copied, and assembled in advance.
- Coordinates departmental schedules and activities, ensuring effective planning and execution.
- Supports the planning and coordination of employee engagement events and departmental functions.
- Ensures completeness of electronic new employee files ensuring all forms are collected and filled out completely prior to electronically filing them.
- Prepares a variety of documents, reports, correspondence, and forms; assists in the development and maintenance of departmental templates and forms.
- Answers the main Human Resources phone line, handling incoming calls, taking messages, providing general information, and routing calls appropriately; ensures consistent backup coverage for the main line.
- Manages incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting and distribution.
- Performs routine typing and data entry.
- Maintains the department’s filing system, including organizing, updating, and retrieving files as needed.
- Attends meetings, training sessions, and seminars as required to maintain knowledge and skills relevant to the role.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education
Minimum Requirements to Perform the Work:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with demonstrated working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a professional office setting or a related administrative field.
