Human Resources Applications Solutions Lead (Oracle HCM)

Location: Must live within 2 hours of Cincinnati, OH

Job Overview:

This lead role is responsible for the overall day-to-day oversight of the HR Technology team as well as HR applications and related tools including Oracle HCM Cloud, bSwift and other software products in the HRIS ecosystem. This role acts in an advisory/lead capacity and the subject matter expert for a broad spectrum of HR systems and processes. Provides technical and project management expertise in the areas of planning, systems administration, systems configuration, change management, process improvement and implementation. Also assists in design and operationalization of key HR data requirements, utilizing the data warehouse and core systems of record. Guides team and works with analysts and vendor(s) to ensure accurate content, functionality and system configuration. Supports the direction of systems while ensuring integration with other supported platform(s). Has key role in internal and external relationship management, including vendors, employees/management, and user-group participation. Leads test coordination for HR systems including patches, upgrades and implementations including review of release notes. Is responsible for maintaining administrative security, developing ad hoc queries and standard reports utilizing a variety of tools (SQL, Oracle OTBI, Access, Excel, etc). Coordinates activities with business process owners and acts as a liaison with IS and HR/Payroll. Acts independently, under general direction from manager/director.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business; or related field
  • Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree
  • High proficiency in SQL
  • MS Excel/Access and HR Applications
  • Knowledge of SaaS delivery model
  • Experience with requirements gathering and technical execution
  • Understands HIPAA and privacy rules and regulations
  • 1-2 years experience Professional in HRIS/Information Systems or related field
  • Experience with SaaS vendors/solutions required
  • Experience with case management and web-based portal framework tools in a HR environment
  • 1-2 years experience Progressive Leadership Project leader/administrator

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates day-to-day activities of the HR Technology Team, assists with the production support of HR applications and processes, and ensures compliance.
  • Ensures appropriate and adequate resource allocation. Utilizes Case Management data to assess workloads and provide recommendations to HR Technology Manager.
  • Provides technical guidance and training to HR Technology staff and end-users and provides mentorship and coaching.
  • Develops technical solutions for complex business needs and improvements.
  • Troubleshoots system errors and customer service inquiries.
  • Handles routine weekly updates and rounding with customers and team members.
  • Contributes to HR Operations meetings.
  • Provides overall subject matter expertise in the areas of planning, vendor selection, system configuration and implementation for HR applications, assisting with development of the HRIS roadmap and strategic planning.
  • Acts as a primary systems administrator for the Oracle HCM ecosystem including the evaluation and implementation of additional modules and functionality as needed.
  • Proposes solutions for process enhancements as well as issue resolution.
  • Ensures execution of required tasks to maintain data integrity and optimal functionality.
  • Reports systems issues to key contacts and works with vendor(s) to resolve.
  • Acts in lead role to HR Analysts.
  • Coordinates the design, development, testing and ongoing maintenance of interfaces to internal and external parties.
  • Has oversight and planning over HR data needs as well as routine operations and manages multiple requests.
  • Provides guidance and prioritization to analysts, and recommendations on enhancements and process improvements.
  • Develops ad hoc queries and standard reports. Utilizes appropriate and varied reporting tools.
  • Serves as a back-up resource for reporting/analytics needs.
  • Ensures data privacy and confidentiality is maintained according to corporate guidelines.
  • Ensures regulatory reporting including ACA are conducted in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Works closely with key HR stakeholders and other HR teams to collaborate on functional need against technical execution.
  • Serves as a key point of contact for external vendors. Coordinates change management activities with business process owners.
  • Acts as a facilitator to document current state of processes and determine process improvements.
  • Transfers complex business needs into requirements and analyzes results to ensure business needs are met.
  • Acts as a liaison with IS and HR/Payroll to coordinate system integration and prioritize tasks for resource allocation. Actively participates in related user group(s), maintaining relationships with key resources.
  • Defines and conducts quality reviews of existing systems.
  • Serves as the lead planner for Infor HCM patches and upgrades.
  • Ensures all testing is completed and high standards of validation are attained.
  • Relays issues encountered to appropriate parties and ensures resolution. Networks with vendors and other administrators to identify and resolve system issues and enhancements.
  • Evaluates application release upgrades and recommends action.
  • Coordinates timely implementation, including thorough testing, documentation, and communication of changes.
  • Trains appropriate departmental staff and key customers on new functionality, data requirements and processes, and serves as key contact for HR.
  • Works on special projects as required/needed.
  • Maintains knowledge and skills required to perform job functions as technology and/or reporting requirements change.
  • Acts as a Project lead for new modules or system integrations.
