Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About the Job

The Manufacturing Blue-Collar Recruiter is responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process for hourly manufacturing positions, including production associates, machine operators, assemblers, and warehouse staff. This role partners closely with internal hiring managers and external staffing agencies to ensure a steady pipeline of qualified candidates. The ideal candidate is highly organized, relationship-driven, and experienced in high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environments. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce and encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply. This is a six (6) month contract position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for hourly blue-collar roles, including job posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer coordination.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand workforce needs, define job requirements, and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Utilize various sourcing channels (job boards, social media, community outreach, employee referrals, job fairs) to attract a diverse candidate pool.
  • Conduct phone and in-person interviews to assess candidate fit, availability, and commitment.
  • Coordinate and facilitate onboarding processes, including background checks, drug screenings, and new hire paperwork.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and ensure compliance with all hiring policies and regulations.
  • Build and maintain a talent pipeline for recurring and seasonal hiring needs.
Staffing-Agency Management Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all contracted staffing agencies supporting hourly manufacturing hiring.
  • Negotiate contracts, rates, and service-level agreements (SLAs) with agency partners.
  • Monitor agency performance against key metrics, including time-to-fill, quality of hire, and retention rates.
  • Provide clear job specifications, shift requirements, and candidate expectations to agency recruiters.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and performance reviews with agency representatives.
  • Ensure temporary-to-permanent conversion processes are seamless and compliant.
  • Address any issues related to candidate quality, attendance, or workplace conduct in partnership with agency teams.
What you Know:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of recruiting experience, with a focus on manufacturing, production, or blue-collar roles.
  • Proven experience managing relations with external staffing agencies.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR software; experience with Workday and ADP is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience recruiting for lean manufacturing or just-in-time production environments.
  • Familiarity with high-volume hiring campaigns (e.g., seasonal peaks, plant expansions).
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or other relevant HR certification.
  • Experience with workforce planning and talent pipeline development.
Skills and Competencies
  • Relationship Building: Ability to establish trust and credibility with hiring managers, candidates, and agency partners.
  • Time Management: Skilled at prioritizing multiple requisitions and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Comfortable using metrics to track recruitment effectiveness and improve processes.
  • Inclusive Mindset: Commitment to equitable hiring practices and reducing bias in recruitment.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to respond to changing workforce needs and business priorities.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and ability to learn new systems quickly.
Performance Metrics
  • Time-to-Fill: Average number of days to fill hourly positions.
  • Quality of Hire: Retention rates at 30, 60, and 90 days.
  • Agency Performance: Compliance with SLAs, candidate quality scores, and conversion rates.
  • Candidate Satisfaction: Feedback from candidates and hiring managers on recruitment experience.
  • Diversity Metrics: Representation of diverse candidates in applicant pools and hires.
