The Department of Family & Community Services is recruiting for a Human Resource Technician 2 in Anchorage!

What You Will Be Doing:

You will be joining a professional team of motivated Human Resource Technicians dedicated to exemplary internal customer service, in an environment that is collaborative, respectful, and empowers employees. You will be part of a team providing technical support to all Department of Family and Community Services divisions in the recruitment and hiring process, while partnering with hiring managers and personnel to provide guidance. This includes referring candidates to hiring managers for review, proofreading and posting job bulletins (like the one you are reading!), approving and sending out hire approvals for selected candidates, and other various recruitment related tasks. The Recruitment team also works hand in hand with the Talent Acquisition team for the department to assist with their recruitment efforts.

Six months of entry technical level experience in human resource work equivalent to a Human Resource Technician 1 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.

Substitution:

Graduation from high school or the equivalent and one year of advanced clerical experience.

Substitution:

One year of postsecondary education (32 semester hours or 48 quarter hours from an accredited college or university equals one year) in any field.

Special Note:

High school graduation "equivalent" means one of the following: 1) a G.E.D (i.e. passing the General Educational Development test).; 2) completion of any basic adult education course of 480 class hours (16 weeks at 30 hours per week); 3) six months of work experience performing duties related to office or clerical support; 4) twelve months of work experience involving some routine tasks related to office or clerical support; 5) highest grade of school completed plus any kind of work experience that totals 12 years or more; or 6) acceptance for admission in full standing by an accredited college or university.

"Human resource" work includes experience in recruitment and selection, classification, employee training, employer provided benefits programs, employment law compliance, personnel, payroll, or employee or labor relations.
