JOB TITLE:

Specialist, Human Resources (Employee Relations)

SUMMARY

The position is responsible for performing HR related duties at a professional level working closely with senior management, the corporate HR team, and the HR teams across the organization. This work includes company branding, HR procedure updating, maintenance, and document control, and compiling organizational HR performance metrics. This position also carries out responsibilities in the following areas for the corporate group: employee relations activities and events, time and attendance tracking, leave administration, onboarding, and safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Work with Plant HR Managers and the Corporate HR team to keep corporate policies and procedures up to date, maintain HR document control, and communicate updates across the organization
  • Schedule global monthly HR meetings and maintain agendas and notes
  • Lead employee relations activities including employee recognition programs and events, charity events and coordinate activities and events across the organization
  • Work in conjunction with the recruiting team to successfully onboard new employees and ensure best practices are followed.
  • Responsible for Tech Center onboarding including paperwork compliance, orientation, company communication, and other first-day welcoming tasks as needed.
  • Analyze HR performance metrics and work with Corporate HR to develop and execute strategies to improve them
  • Manage the day-to-day benefit carrier feeds and enrollment processes, troubleshooting as necessary
  • Guide and advise employees on benefit related matters as needed
  • Administer health and welfare plans for the corporate group, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions
  • Administer annual Open Enrollment alongside the Corporate HR Manager
  • Handle employment related inquiries from employees and refer complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Participate with the Corporate HR Manager in day-to-day performance management guidance for functional managers on topics such as coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans for their employees
  • Participate with the corporate HR manager in objective investigations, employee disciplinary meetings, and terminations
  • Assist the safety team with location communications, postings, and general compliance.
  • Maintain records for the corporate group including personnel, benefits, attendance, workers comp and safety
  • Process the time worked to payroll, tracking attendance and leave time
  • Serve as a resource to employees regarding HR related policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all employee information is kept confidential and secure
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with HRIS platforms
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in working with large amounts of data including API feeds and reporting
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple projects and activities at one time
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • A minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment (Traditional score of 26 on the Cognitive portion).
