Mira Vista Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, is seeking an Human Resources Manager to lead a growing HR function that’s emerging as a key partner to club leadership. This role focuses on recruiting, onboarding, employee development, and building scalable HR processes for a mixed team across culinary, golf, racquets, fitness, and administration.
You will work with management to improve leadership capabilities, implement performance management, and shape benefits and safety programs.
Maybe you've spent the last few years as an HR Generalist or Coordinator.
You've recruited. You've onboarded. You've answered the questions nobody else knew how to answer.
You've helped managers through difficult conversations. You've organized the training, fixed the process, updated the spreadsheet, calmed the situation down, and probably wondered at least once:
This might be it.
Mira Vista Country Club is looking for our next Human Resources Manager and we're deliberately not looking for someone who has already spent 15 years running a large HR department.
We're looking for someone talented, hungry, thoughtful, organized, people-oriented, and ready for the next step.
Your workplace happens to include a championship golf course, tennis and pickleball courts, swimming pools, restaurants, kitchens, special events, and approximately 130 year-round team members, growing to roughly 200 during the summer.
You'll work with everyone from culinary professionals and servers to golf, agronomy, racquets, fitness, aquatics, facilities, accounting, and Club leadership.
Some days you'll be recruiting.
Some days you'll be helping a manager become a better leader.
Some days you'll be welcoming a new employee on their first day.
Some days you'll be working through an employee-relations issue that wasn't on your calendar that morning.
And some days you'll be dreaming up a better way for us to take care of the people who take care of our Members.
HR at Mira Vista is a relatively new function.
That means you isn't walking into a department where someone hands you a 400-page playbook and says, "This is how we've always done it."
You'll have the opportunity to help build the playbook.
Recruiting. Onboarding. Employee engagement. Training. Performance management. Benefits. Safety. Compliance. Communication. Culture.
You'll have meaningful responsibility, but you won't be expected to know everything on Day One.
You'll work closely with our Controller and General Manager, partner with our HR Assistant, and have access to outside HR, safety, benefits, and legal professionals when specialized expertise is needed.
We want you to grow into the role while helping the role grow around you.
You probably have 3+ years of HR experience and enough experience to know what good HR looks like, but you're still early enough in your career to be excited about building something.
You communicate exceptionally well.
You can be warm without being a pushover.
You can enforce a policy without forgetting there's a person on the other side of it.
You're comfortable having difficult conversations.
You notice when a process doesn't make sense, and instead of complaining about it, you start thinking about how to make it better.
You believe culture is something an organization does, not something it prints on a poster.
And you genuinely like people.
A SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification is great. If you don't have one yet, that's okay - we'd be glad to support you in earning it.
We want Mira Vista to become the kind of workplace where great people want to work, great employees want to stay, managers know how to lead, expectations are clear, communication is strong, and our employees feel the same hospitality from us that we expect them to provide to our Members.
That's a big assignment.
And that's why this isn't just another HR job.
Mira Vista Country Club sits within a beautiful 700-acre community in southwest Fort Worth and has spent more than three decades bringing families and friends together through golf, racquets, swimming, dining, and memorable social experiences.
We're proud of our Club.
We're proud of our people.
And we're serious about becoming an even better place to work.
If you're an HR Generalist or Coordinator who's been waiting for someone to give you the opportunity to take the next step, we'd like to meet you.
