CLASS SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for coordinating a broad range of human resource functions. Responsibilities include administering benefits, recruitment, onboarding, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
TYPICAL CLASS ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (These duties are representative; actual assignments may vary.)
1. Research, analyze, and administer healthcare plans, including medical, dental, disability, and family leave benefits. Advise employees, answer questions, and enroll staff in benefit and compensation programs.
2. Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment; conduct employee onboarding; generate official documents such as offer and appointment letters.
3. Support employees on HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation; resolve arising issues.
4. Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper formats.
5. Develop HR solutions by collecting and analyzing information and recommending actions.
6. Serve as HR payroll liaison with the Payroll department.
7. Assist Senior HR Generalist with benefit administration bill payments.
8. Ensure effective communication with employees and timely resolution of queries, especially regarding disability, FMLA absences, and employee status changes.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field; 5-7 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws; HR policies; benefits practices; employee relations; recruitment; employee orientation; and document retention.
SKILLS:
Proficiency with computers and HR software; compliance monitoring; benefits administration; recruitment advertising; employee orientation; record maintenance; effective communication and interpersonal skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Sedentary work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally; most work is sitting, with occasional walking and standing.
