Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related work experience preferred.
  • 2–4 years of administrative, human resources, payroll, benefits, or office support experience required.
  • Experience supporting multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Job description

The Human Resource Coordinator provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department and coordinates day-to-day HR operations under the direction of the Director of Human Resources. The role maintains employee records, supports recruitment and onboarding, administers HR processes and documentation, and assists with benefits and HR-related systems while maintaining confidentiality.

Role Overview

This position supports core HR functions including maintaining personnel files and HRIS records, coordinating employment documentation, assisting with HR reporting and administrative projects, and serving as a first point of contact for general HR inquiries. The coordinator also supports hiring workflows, onboarding activities, benefits administration, and training compliance reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain employee personnel files, HRIS records, and other HR documentation.
  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain employment-related forms, letters, and correspondence.
  • Coordinate document collection, filing, and retention in accordance with company policies.
  • Audit employee records and HR data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with HR reporting, data entry, and administrative projects.
  • Post job openings and manage applicant tracking system activities.
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate communication with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Facilitate background checks, drug screenings, reference checks, and other pre-employment requirements.
  • Prepare onboarding documents and new hire orientation materials, including completing and properly filing onboarding documentation.
  • Coordinate new hire orientation schedules and onboarding activities.
  • Coordinate volunteer opportunities for RED employees to participate in events with the local community, including Habitat for Humanity and United Way Day of Caring.
  • Coordinate and manage applicable on-site events, including blood drives.
  • Support initiatives that align with RED culture, values, internal communications, and volunteer activities.
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and related paperwork, and support annual open enrollment activities and employee communications.
  • Facilitate responses to routine employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and HR programs.
  • Coordinate employee wellness events in collaboration with the HR team, including walking challenges and immunization clinics.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for general HR inquiries and assist employees with HR forms, policies, and administrative processes.
  • Prepare employee communications, announcements, and HR-related materials supporting recognition, wellness, and engagement activities.
  • Manage the OptiSign program, including weekly slide updates or updates as needed.
  • Assist with coordination of senior leadership meetings, town hall meetings, and vendors as required.
  • Assist with purchasing office supplies for specific functions or events for the HR team, including project-based supplies.
  • Order and deliver meals for leadership or vendor meetings, including setup and cleanup.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and interoffice mail.
  • Manage the anniversary and birthday card program.
  • File required employment records and documentation, and assist with audits, reporting requirements, and compliance-related recordkeeping.
  • Track required training, certifications, licenses, and other workforce documentation, including weekly training compliance updates and monthly training requirements communications.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee, payroll, and company information at all times.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience with HRIS systems; ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Compensation

The starting pay range for this role is $28.00 to $32.00 per hour. The position is also eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus program.

Reporting Structure

This role reports to the Director of Human Resources, and will also take direction from the Human Resources Generalist and members of the Senior Leadership Team.

Work Schedule and Status

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This is a primarily office-based role with frequent interaction with employees, managers, and external vendors. The work requires extended periods of sitting and computer use. The role supports both office and field-based employees and involves light to moderate lifting and carrying with a maximum lift of 25 lbs.

The position requires the ability to operate computer equipment and workplace devices such as printers and copiers, and to communicate information and ideas so others will understand through spoken and written words.
