DCYF: The Opportunity:

This professional-level consultant in DCYF’s Human Resource Management System (HRMS) unit is responsible for processing accurate and timely HRMS actions for all agency employees and positions, ensuring correct compensation statewide. The role independently researches, evaluates, and resolves complex HR, payroll, and HRMS issues, providing technical consultation to HR and payroll professionals as well as agency staff. In addition, the position manages and updates the Organizational Framework in HRMS, and reviews, establishes, reallocates, and maintains positions across the agency with accuracy and accountability.

Some of what you will get to do:

  • Maintain data integrity by reviewing all documents, before entry into the Human Resource Management System, for accuracy and accordance with WACs, Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), and internal policies and procedures.
  • Research, analyze and audit personnel actions.
  • Responsible for keying Personnel Actions within HRMS.
  • Collaborate frequently with local Human Resources Consultants (HRCs), Payroll, Classification and Compensation, and Labor Relations to ensure accurate data entry to reduce negative impacts on employees.
  • Provide professional-level consultation to HRC\'s regarding personnel actions and data definitions.
  • Responsible for Establishing and Maintaining positions within HRMS.
  • Assist with keying small and large-scale data cleanup projects.
  • Responsible for producing routine reports using HRMS.
  • Researches and resolves problems/issues within the Organizational Management system.
  • Responsible for keying Organizational Management data updates.
  • Create My Portal leave approval relationships/ organizational units.

Required Qualifications:

Equivalent education and/or experience totaling five (5) years of progressively responsible, paid, professional experience in Human Resources* or related field.

OR

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) with focus on business, human resources, social or organizational behavioral sciences, or related field. AND One (1) year of professional human resource experience (professional human resource experience means working full-time as a human resource professional performing HR functions).

*Note: Professional human resource experience means working full-time as a human resource professional performing HR functions. Additional professional human resource experience may substitute, year for year, for required education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Skilled in communicating complex concepts orally and in writing.
  • Skilled in organizing and prioritizing multi-layered projects with conflicting timelines.
  • Ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to handle shifting priorities and switch directions quickly while maintaining a calm, professional attitude.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate data.
