Job Title: Human Resource Consultant 2 (HRC2) Echo Glen
Location: King County - Snoqualmie, WA (On-Site at our Echo Glen Facility)

Salary: $4,740.00 - $6,384.00 Monthly

The Opportunity:

This role supports the agency's goal of safeguarding children and reinforcing families through human resource consultation to management, supervisors, and employees, mainly focusing on protected leave options. It collaborates with HR partners on reasonable accommodations and workplace injury issues. Located at our secure Echo Glen Children’s Center Institution, this role also supports four regional parole offices and eight statewide minimum security Community Facilities. Responsibilities include providing HR guidance related to FMLA and FLSA, DCYF policies, WAC Civil Service laws, Collective Bargaining Agreements, and other regulations. The position involves resolving sensitive, complex HR issues with potentially broad, precedent-setting impact.

Some of what you will do:

  • Consult with employees and supervisors on FMLA, PFML, pregnancy disability, domestic violence leave, military leave, and shared leave requests.
  • Explain state and federal regulations, agency policies, procedures, and CBAs related to protected leave.
  • Assist the Workplace Claims and Accommodations Unit (WCAU), management, and employees with reasonable accommodations, return-to-work, and transitional duty processes.
  • Maintain all associated protected leave documentation in Med/AA files.
  • Review monthly monitoring of tasks (MOT) and LWOP reports from HRMS, and work with internal HR to process actions accordingly.
  • Track personnel actions and activities.
  • Advise and consult with supervisors and managers on performance management concerns.
  • Perform HR-related research and analyze reports and data.
  • Create and maintain HR-related files, both paper and electronic.
  • Provide backup support for HRC3 and HRC1 roles when needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of experience in an office or HR setting, or related field, or a combination of relevant education and experience totaling four (4) years.

*Education must be focused on business or public administration, human resources, social or organizational behavioral sciences, or a related field from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and CHEA.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Human Resource Management System (HRMS) data processing.
  • Knowledge of HR-related WACs, RCWs, Federal laws, agency policies, procedures, and CBAs.
