Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum five (5) years of Human Resources experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client locations.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

PES partners with clients to deliver workforce solutions and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as the primary HR contact for client companies, providing consultative support across Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Workers' Compensation, and Compliance. The HRBP builds strong client relationships, resolves service issues, provides guidance on employment matters, and partners with internal subject matter experts to deliver exceptional client service. Success in this role requires strong employment law knowledge, sound judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Client Partnership & General HR Support
  • Serve as a consultative, trusted advisor to client leadership, including executive teams, on HR and benefits matters.
  • Respond to employee and client inquiries related to HR, payroll, benefits, and employment administration.
  • Manage HR and benefits initiatives across assigned client accounts.
  • Resolve issues promptly, escalating complex matters to the appropriate internal experts.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, employees, and internal departments while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Compliance & Unemployment Administration
  • Manage unemployment claims and attend hearings as required.
  • Interpret and apply HR policies and employment regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and multi-state employment laws.
  • Ensure labor law posting compliance at client worksites.
Employee Relations & Training
  • Develop and maintain employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate harassment prevention and workplace training programs.
  • Conduct workplace and employee relations investigations.
  • Support implementation of HR best practices and organizational initiatives
Benefits, Payroll & Workers' Compensation
  • Support workers' compensation reporting and claim administration.
  • Provide guidance on employee benefit programs.
  • Assist with payroll-related requests and employment documentation.
  • Resolve payroll and benefits questions and concerns.
Client Engagement & Operations
  • Conduct a minimum of five client meetings or visits weekly.
  • Utilize HRIS and business systems, including PRISM.
  • Prepare and analyze spreadsheets and reports using Excel and related tools.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proven excellence in customer service, client support and engagement.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience managing HR projects, policy implementation, organizational change, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Consultative approach with confidence advising executive-level leaders.
  • Working knowledge of payroll, benefits, workers' compensation, and unemployment processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office and Excel skills; ability to learn HRIS platforms.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, customer service, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, confidentiality, and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum five (5) years of Human Resources experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client locations.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Preferred
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or similar HR certification.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms and automated HR environments.
  • PEO, HR outsourcing, or related consulting experience.
  • Additional education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position is primarily performed in an office setting with regular travel to client locations. The role requires prolonged computer use, regular sitting, standing, walking, and driving, and occasional lifting of materials up to 20 pounds. Employees must be able to effectively use standard office equipment and communicate verbally and in writing
