We are currently hiring for: Human Resource Assistant - MUST BE BILINGUAL IN SPANISH

Job Overview:

Shift - Sunday-Thursday 6:30am-3:00pm

We are seeking a highly organized and bilingual (English/Spanish) HR Assistant to join our dynamic Human Resources team. The ideal candidate will provide support to HR operations, ensuring smooth communication and efficient administration across all HR processes. This role requires a detail-oriented, proactive, and bilingual individual with strong interpersonal skills, a passion for employee relations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Staffing:
    • Assist with recruitment activities, including screening candidates, conducting interviews, and scheduling tours for production and warehouse roles.
    • Conduct onboarding for new hires, ensuring they receive proper training and orientation on company policies, safety standards, and job expectations.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, addressing concerns, issues, and requests related to HR policies, benefits, payroll, and workplace issues.
    • Assist in resolving employee conflicts and mediate in disputes, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and labor laws.
    • Help promote a positive work environment through employee engagement activities, communication of company updates, and wellness initiatives.
  • HR Documentation and Recordkeeping:
    • Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS (Human Resource Information System), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
    • Assist with the preparation and organization of documentation for new hires, terminations, and employee status changes.
    • Support compliance with labor laws and industry-specific regulations by maintaining accurate employee files, including I-9 forms, tax forms, and benefit elections.
  • Payroll Support:
    • Assist with the preparation and administration of payroll for hourly and salaried employees, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
    • Address payroll inquiries from employees, making sure they understand their pay statements, deductions, and benefits.
    • Support Payroll Specialist with timecard verification and data entry for shift records.
  • Training & Compliance:
    • Assist with scheduling and tracking employee training sessions, ensuring that all staff complete required courses on company policies, safety protocols, and job-specific skills.
    • Support compliance efforts by maintaining up-to-date training records and ensuring adherence to labor laws, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Benefits Administration:
    • Assist employees with benefit-related inquiries and help resolve any issues with benefit providers.
    • Support the HR team in open enrollment processes and ensure that all benefits documentation is up to date.
  • Translation and Communication:
    • Translate HR policies, documents, and communications (e.g., safety instructions, benefits guides) to ensure all employees understand company expectations, rules, and benefits.
    • Assist in communicating company policies, job-related updates, and other HR-related matters in both languages, ensuring clear understanding across diverse employee groups.
    • Act as a liaison between English and Spanish-speaking employees, ensuring seamless communication and fostering an inclusive environment.
  • General Administrative Support:
    • Provide administrative support to the HR department, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and updating communication boards.
    • Participate in HR meetings and contribute to discussions on policy improvements and employee engagement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or currently pursuing studies in Human Resources, is highly preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of experience in an HR administrative or assistant role, preferably within the poultry processing, manufacturing, or similar industrial sectors.
    • Experience with HR software, specifically Paycom, is preferred. Familiarity with working in a unionized environment and understanding of union contracts is a plus.
    • Knowledge of labor laws, OSHA regulations, and workplace safety standards in the poultry or food processing industry is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish): Fluency in both spoken and written English and Spanish is required.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with employees at all levels.
    • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to address employee concerns and resolve issues promptly.
    • Detail-oriented and able to handle complex administrative tasks with accuracy.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in an industrial setting with moderate noise levels.

Work Environment:

  • This position will primarily be based in the office but may occasionally require visits to the processing plant floor.
  • Standard working hours are Sunday to Thursday 6:30 am – 3:00 pm, with occasional flexibility required depending on HR needs.
