Job summary

Penn State University’s Department of Nutritional Sciences invites applications for a Human Research Technologist to contribute to a federally funded longitudinal study on pediatric obesity prevention. Job description

The Department of Nutritional Sciences in the College of Health and Human Development is seeking a Human Research Technologist. This position will work on a Federally funded longitudinal study on pediatric obesity prevention and will oversee protocol development, participant recruitment, and day-to-day execution of the study.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop standard operating procedures for a Federally funded longitudinal study in children
  • Establish data collection forms, surveys, and protocol instructions in Redcap for delivery
  • Work as part of an inter-disciplinary team with full-time staff members, faculty, and graduate students to implement a pipeline for participant recruitment, data collection, and data processing
  • Assign data processing and laboratory testing procedures to undergraduate research assistants
  • Assist with ongoing and planned recruitment activities and identify new recruitment opportunities in the community and network with community stakeholders to disseminate information about ongoing studies
  • Deliver training to research assistants to ensure successful adherence to study protocol
  • Coordinate with other research staff to complete purchases for study materials and foods and rectify expenses in a timely fashion
QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate should have experience with conducting human research studies in the field of nutrition or a related field. Experience working with children and families. Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

  • No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education.
  • Required Certifications: None

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $40,608.00 - $58,836.00. Salary Structure - Information on Penn State's salary structure
