Job summary

For additional information on remote work at Penn State, see Notice to Out of State Applicants.**This position is funded for 1 year(s); continuation past 1 year(s) will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.### **POSITION SPECIFICS****The Department of Nutritional Sciences** in the **College of Health and Human Development** is seeking a **Human Research Technologist.** This position will work on a Federally funded longitudinal study on pediatric obesity prevention and will oversee protocol development, participant recruitment, and day-to-day execution of the study.**CORE RESPONSIBILITIES*** Develop standard operating procedures for a Federally funded longitudinal study in children* Establish data collection forms, surveys, and protocol instructions in Redcap for delivery* Work as part of an inter-disciplinary team with full-time staff members, faculty, and graduate students to implement a pipeline for participant recruitment, data collection, and data processing* Assign data processing and laboratory testing procedures to undergraduate research assistants* Assist with ongoing and planned recruitment activities and identify new recruitment opportunities in the community and network with community stakeholders to disseminate information about ongoing studies* Deliver training to research assistants to ensure successful adherence to study protocol* Coordinate with other research staff to complete purchases for study materials and foods and rectify expenses in a timely fashion**QUALIFICATIONS*** The successful candidate should have experience with conducting human research studies in the field of nutrition or a related field.* Experience working with children and families.* Excellent organizational and time management abilities. **MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS**Associate DegreeNo prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education.Required Certifications:None### **BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES**This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.### Penn State does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of a staff employment Visa.
