Qualifications

  • Expérience de 1 à 2 ans en milieu hospitalier ou de santé souhaitée.
  • Certification en tant que technicien en lait maternel exigée.
  • Expérience antérieure en tant que technicien en lait ou pharmacie souhaitée.

Responsibilities

  • Préparer, étiqueter, stocker et distribuer les aliments pour nourrissons dans le NICU.
  • Assister l'équipe de soins de santé dans le contrôle des stocks de lait maternel.
  • Coopérer avec les membres de l'équipe médicale.

Position: Human Milk Technician

Dept: Neonatal ICU - Mercy Hospital STL

Shift: PT Days - 8 hours per week with rotation of Weekends/Holidays

Overview:

The milk technician is responsible for the preparation, labeling, storage, and delivery of all infant feedings in the NICU. This includes human milk feedings (mother's own milk and pasteurized donor human milk (PDHM)) as well as ready to feed formula. Supports and assists the healthcare team in the preparation, distribution, and inventory control of breastmilk and performs other duties as necessary for the provision of family focused services. Works cooperatively with all members of the medical team, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, patient care associates/secretaries, and family members of patients. Performs all duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Mercy Mission, Values, and Service Standards.


Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent certificate

Experience: 1-2 years experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred.

Preferred Education: Bachelor degree.

Experience: Experience working with computers is preferred.

Required BLS or need to option within 90 days of hirer.

Previous experience as a milk or pharmacy technician.

Certification as a Formula/Human Milk Technician from an accredited program.

Other Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated competence in mathematical skills.

Effective verbal and written communication skills. Outstanding customer service skills.
