Job Title: Human Milk Technician

Schedule: 36 hours/week, night shift 7p-7a, every other weekend and rotating holidays

Job Description Summary:

Manages the preparation, distribution, and inventory of Human Milk (HM) and Donor Human Milk (DHM).

Essential Functions:

1. Collects and processes human milk according to established protocols.
2. Labels and stores human milk in appropriate containers and locations.
3. Monitors and maintains inventory of human milk and supplies.
4. Cleans and sanitizes equipment and work areas.
5. Monitors daily inventory and orders additional nutrition room supplies as needed, stocks nutrition room with all needed supplies.
6. Monitors refrigerator and freezer temperatures and notifies engineering for assessment of potential/actual problems.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of computer software.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to understand and interpret basic medical terminologies.

Physical Requirements:

Occasionally: Bend/twist, lifting/carrying 0-10 lbs.

Frequently: Blood and/or bodily fluids, computer use, hand skills (grasping, gripping, turning), reaching above shoulder, sitting, walking.

Continuously: Color vision, depth perception, data interpretation, peripheral vision, standing.
