Job Overview

Associate Professor/Professor and Clinical Laboratory Director position in the Genetics and Genomics Diagnostic Laboratory, Division of Human Genetics, Department of Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, and compassionate patient care at a level commensurate with the clinical specialty.
• Serve as an authority in the field, developing local or regional referral bases and distinctive clinical programs.
• Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows, ensuring safe and effective patient care and maintaining curricular standards.
• Participate in service and administration, including program development, performance‑improvement initiatives, and committee work.
• Engage in scholarly activity: design and conduct clinical research, publish results, participate in reviews, and secure external funding when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine, Ph.D., or equivalent.
• Board certification in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics or equivalent.
• Associate Professor or full Professor appointment (or eligibility).
• Completion of all required pre‑employment activities.
• Vision for advancing comprehensive multiomic testing services, experience with rapid or long‑read genome sequencing, and leadership of a CLIA and CAP‑certified genetic testing laboratory.
