Job summary

Valkyrie Enterprises, Inc. in Norfolk, VA is seeking an experienced Hull Technician Contract Instructor to lead classroom and lab instruction in Advanced Welding, NDT of metals, and Ultrasonic Inspector courses for the Surface Warfare Schools Command.

The role requires Navy instructor training or equivalent, 3+ years of technical experience, and prior shipboard HT experience, with duties including operating government simulators, managing student records, and providing remediation and retests.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of specified welding and NDT programs.
• Navy Instructor Training Course or equivalent.
• At least 3 years technical experience in the subject matter.
• At least 2 years of experience in a Military Training Environment.
• Former Senior HT (E5–E9) with recent shipboard experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of safety, welding, NDT and ultrasonic inspections on shipboard.

Responsibilities

• Lead a classroom of students through group-paced instruction of welding and NDT subjects.
• Operate Government furnished simulators, TTE and other computer-based training; critique and maintain records.
• Assess competence and conduct remediation and retest when necessary.
