INDUS Technology, Inc. is seeking a Hull, Mechanical, and Engineering (Nuclear) subject matter expert to support CNAL Code N47 with propulsion and reactor services, trend reporting, and readiness recommendations for CVN reactor plant systems.

This contingent role will be located in Norfolk, VA, reporting to the Program Manager, and will require active secret clearance and CVN reactor operations experience. Responsibilities include analyzing HM&E modernization packages, producing visual readiness

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical advice on HM&E modernization and propulsion data.
  • Generate visual representations of reactor readiness and brief leadership.
  • Analyze CASREPs, failures, and LARs affecting propulsion and ship's services.
  • Assess impact of equipment conditions on AWPs and propose repairs.
  • Inform readiness SMEs of issues impacting deployment certification.
  • Draft updates to Carrier Readiness guidance in coordination with AIRLANT.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Hull, Mechanical, and Engineering (Nuclear) will provide subject matter expertise on aircraft carrier reactor plant and Hull, Mechanical & Electrical systems to the CVN ROC, supporting CNAL Code N47 with technical analysis, trend reporting, and readiness recommendations tied to propulsion and reactor-supported ship's services.

This is a contingent position expected to be located in Norfolk, VA. The pay range for the position will be provided at the time the position is no longer contingent.

  • Provide technical advice on proposed HM&E modernization packages and collect/analyze Propulsion Plant data to develop and maintain propulsion readiness driver trees.
  • Produce visual representations of CVN reactor department readiness and brief developments/deliveries to leadership as required.
  • Conduct trend analysis of CASREPs, material/equipment failures, and LARs related to propulsion and reactor-supported ship's services; brief CVN, CNAP, and CNAL leadership on results and mission impacts.
  • Analyze the impact of equipment casualty conditions, alterations, and maintenance on AWPs and provide repair recommendations.
  • Inform ROC Readiness SMEs of any propulsion plant issue affecting a CVN's ability to certify for deployment or operations.
  • Analyze existing processes and submit draft recommendations for new or updated Carrier Readiness guidance, for Government review and coordination with AIRLANT Codes (primarily N9).
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 4 years of experience, OR an Associate's Degree and at least 8 years of experience, OR a High School Diploma/equivalent and at least 10 years of CVN reactor operations experience.
  • CVN-specific Reactor experience is required for this position.
  • Ten (10) years' experience in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of shipboard air conditioning plants.
  • Ten (10) years' experience with technical coordination of HM&E ship systems (propulsion plant machinery/boilers, auxiliary machinery, hull/piping systems, cargo/weapons elevator systems), including repairs, alterations, assessments, inspections, and casualty reports.
  • Ten (10) years' experience in design improvement, testing, evaluation, and new development in HM&E areas, including HM&E modernization packages.
  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Travel Required 10% travel required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior U.S. Navy active-duty Nuclear Enlisted Rating or Nuclear-designated Officer experience.
  • Prior Division Leading Chief Petty Officer (DLCPO) and/or Work Center Supervisor (WCS) experience aboard a CVN.
  • Working knowledge of PPLAN/NOSIS/Naval Reactor technical data sources.
  • Prior experience planning and executing CVN major availabilities.
  • Experience with budget planning, development, execution, and analysis for naval engineering programs, including life-cycle maintenance cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Coordination experience with military technical agencies and field activities on HM&E problem identification.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
  • The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, or recurring and considerable walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing such as performing regular shop activities, inspections, or to observe and study operations in an industrial or comparable work area, or on-board ships, submarines, and/or in weapon facilities.
