Job summary

MultiCare Mary Bridge Children's Hospital & Health Network in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) for per diem, with variable shifts. This role centers on high‑quality patient communication and supporting care delivery.

You will perform receptionist and communications duties, collaborate with the Clinical Director and RN, and assist in coordinating patient services for diverse families across the care team.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Unit Secretary vocational training course or currently enrolled in clinical education program OR previous patient care experience of one (1) year or equivalent clerical experience of one (1) year in a medical setting

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) is an excellent opportunity in providing high-quality patient care, monitoring, and mobility. If you are a skilled communicator and love being the focal communication source, this is the job for you.

As an HUC at MultiCare, you will hone your patient care and monitoring skills, nurture your communications development, and collaborate in support of care and delivery of patient services

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $23.18 - $35.25 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
