Campus Overview
Kettering Health Main Campus
- Kettering Health Main Campus, formerly Kettering Medical Center, is the flagship hospital of Kettering Health and has been serving Kettering, Ohio, and the Greater Dayton area since 1964.
- The facility includes the Benjamin and Marian Schuster Heart Hospital, maternity services with a level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and level II Emergency Care.
- In 2020, KH Main Campus received an “A” from the Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog, ranking among the safest hospitals in the United States.
- Received 4 Star Baby-Friendly Hospital status by the Ohio Hospital Association.

Responsibilities & Requirements
Responsibilities
- The Health Unit Coordinator/Nursing Assistant (HUC NA) has a dual focus, combining the roles of Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) and Nursing Assistant (NA). They serve as a member of the interdisciplinary patient care team.
- The HUC NA supports patients with activities of daily living and performs patient care skills as delegated by the licensed nurse within the Ohio Board of Nursing Scope of Practice.
- The HUC NA collaborates with unit leadership to coordinate the day-to-day activities of the patient care unit. This includes processing patient records and maintaining communication with nursing staff, physicians, and interdepartmental personnel. The HUC NA also serves as a resource for physicians and other healthcare team members regarding the electronic medical record.
- The HUC NA is responsible for maintaining knowledge, skills, and abilities related to delegated tasks. They also support departmental operational needs and perform other duties as assigned.
- The HUC NA reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
Qualifications
Applicants Must Have:
- Successful completion of KH Health Coordinator training upon hire
- Successful completion of KH Nursing Assistant Orientation upon hire
- Certification in CPR/BLS
- Must have one of the following:
- Six months experience as a nursing assistant in a hospital or long-term care facility
- Completion of Nursing Assistant course in the last six months
- Nursing student or pre-nursing student as shown on transcripts
- Current employee with Kettering Health
