Job summary

Stantec is seeking a dedicated HSSE Coordinator to implement the Health, Safety, Security, and Environment program within the Environmental Services Business Operating Unit in the US. The role is based out of a major US office in the Central or South region and reports to the Business Line HSSE Manager.

This full-time position requires adherence to HSSE procedures on projects, field assessments, and collaboration with leadership to improve safety culture and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a health and safety profession.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field is considered an asset but is not required.
• Experience providing safety support for remedial construction or field services focused organization is preferred.
• Professional safety certification is considered an asset but is not required. Preferred certifications include: CSP/CRSP, CIH, SME - CMSP, ASP, GSP, OHST or CHST.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate implementation of HSSE procedures to deliver safe projects.
• Independently solve complex HSSE problems within operational control.
• Support remedial construction, environmental restoration, and cultural service areas.
• Track and manage incidents; develop and share lessons learned; implement preventative actions.
• Lead process improvements aligned with strategic goals.
• Provide coaching to leadership on HSSE matters.
• Assist operations with HSSE systems and local legislation.
• Assist project teams with pre-job planning and hazard assessments.
