Job summary

UIC Government Services and the Bowhead family of companies in Springfield, VA seeks a Health, Safety & Environmental Specialist to support training, inspections, and regulatory compliance within our corporate Support Services team. The role involves working with military/civilian personnel, contractors, and staff at various client sites across the country.

Ideal candidates have an HSE background (BA/BS with experience or AA with 5+ years), OSHA knowledge, MS Office skills, and OSHA 30 or

Qualifications

• BA/BS with at least 1 year HSE experience or AA with 5 years experience.
• Must understand Client and OSHA regs, systems and policies.
• Proficient with MS Office and basic computer tools.
• Coordinate and complete training across multiple shifts to ensure compliance.
• Able to read and interpret general business materials and government regulations.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• OSHA 30 card or Outreach Trainer experience is preferred.
• Familiar with HAZMAT, HAZWOPER, NFPA 70E and EM 385-1-1 concepts.

Responsibilities

• Interact with military/civilian personnel, contractors and staff.
• Provide training, inspections and regulatory compliance input as part of Support Services.
• Support multiple client contracts across divisions nationwide (Production Eng, Industrial, etc.).
• Coordinate training across shifts to maintain compliance.
• Prepare and present information to managers and clients as needed.
