Job summary

IPEX, Fort Pierce, Florida, is seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental Specialist to support regulatory compliance, risk management, and safety program execution at our extrusion plant. The role partners with site leadership to drive engagement and continuous improvement in safety performance.

The successful candidate will lead incident investigations, audits, training, and documentation, while maintaining HSE systems and collaborating across departments to implement best practices.

Qualifications

• Technical Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety required.
• CRSP/CRST, CSP or equivalent is an asset.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in health, safety & environment roles within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication, relationship building and training delivery skills.
• Solid computer skills and technical aptitude.
• Proven ability to influence others, drive change, and collaborate across all levels of an organization.

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, and improve HSE programs, procedures, training, and work instructions.
• Promote employee engagement in HSE initiatives and foster a proactive safety culture.
• Conduct gap assessments, support audits, and develop corrective action plans for regulatory and corporate compliance.
• Lead and support incident, injury, near-miss, and environmental investigations with timely corrective actions.
• Manage regulatory and workers' compensation reporting requirements and support claims management.
• Support Joint Health and Safety Committee initiatives and site risk management processes.
• Partner with operational teams to develop site-specific controls and safe work practices.
• Assess proposed changes to equipment, materials, and processes for HSE impacts and controls.
• Maintain HSE documentation, databases, records, policies, procedures, and training materials.
• Support environmental compliance activities and maintain HSE KPIs.
