Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Mount Pleasant, PA seeks a Health, Safety & Environmental Specialist (3rd shift) to champion safety and environmental excellence on-site. You will coach teams, lead investigations, and drive improvements, ensuring regulatory compliance and ISO-aligned systems.

This full-time role emphasizes collaboration and accountability. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in safety/environmental fields, 2–5 years in HSE roles, knowledge of OSHA in manufacturing, and ASP/CSP assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental roles.
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and systems.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
• ASP and/or CSP certification is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Promote a culture of health, safety, and environmental excellence across the organization.
• Partner with leaders and employees to advance safety programs and initiatives.
• Deliver training, coaching, and guidance on safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend actions to reduce workplace hazards.
• Monitor compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
• Lead incident investigations and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate audits and help maintain ISO-aligned management systems.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance safety performance and operational effectiveness.
