Job summary

Irca Group is seeking an experienced HSE Specialist to advance a Safety-First culture at its Affton, MO plant. You will partner across teams to implement safety programs, conduct risk assessments, and drive audits and training to meet regulatory targets.

Responsibilities include data management, incident investigations, and reporting. A BS in a safety-related field and 3+ years of experience in manufacturing HSE are required; ASP certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a safety or related field and at least 3 years in HSE management in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with OSHA/EPA regulations and compliance programs.
• Experience driving CAPAs and RCAs, problem-solving and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Be a key contact and site resource for HSE support, conducting observations and oversight of non-routine work permits.
• Perform risk/hazard analyses and ergonomic assessments; lead HSE audits and corrective actions.
• Manage site HSE training and develop resources; run training for employees and management.
• Maintain HSE data systems and publish metrics scorecards and reports.
• Support incident investigations and lead where necessary; ensure regulatory adherence.

IRCA is a leading international provider of semi-finished ingredients for the bakery, pastry and gelato markets, serving independent producers as well as large food manufacturers (e.g. CPG). Core products include chocolate, chocolate decorations, creams, pastry mixes, gelato ingredients, and other bakery / pastry ingredients.

JOB PURPOSE

Irca Group is seeking an experienced HSE Specialist to enhance and accelerate our safety culture and programs. If you have a track record of developing and implementing effective safety work programs and driving continuous improvement in HSE programs, we’re passionate about our people, starting with their safety. As our HSE Specialist, you will partner cross functionality with colleagues to create a Safety-First mindset and culture. We are seeking someone to work onsite daily at our plant located in Affton, MO.

Job Responsibilities

• Be a key contact and site resource for HSE support, conducting observations, assessments, and oversight of non-routine work permits.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses and ergonomic assessments.
• Undertake at regular intervals HSE audits/inspections of the site and develop appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage site HSE training, develop appropriate resources, and execute training sessions for employees and management staff as required.
• Maintain enterprise Environmental, Health & Safety data management systems
• Analyze HSE and Sustainability data to offer insights and suggestions for system and process improvements and attainment of HSE performance targets
• Develop and publish metrics scorecards and reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual)
• Support site supervisors with the investigation of HSE incidents at the site. Where necessary, lead investigation process.
• Maintain HSE records to ensure adherence to corporate polices and/or regulatory requirements. Includes, but not limited to, OSHA 300 log, training, inspections, etc.
• Promote World Class HSE Culture through: Employee Engagement, Behavior Based Safety Program, leading Site Safety Committees.
• Other duties as directed by the HSE Manager.

Job Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science, preferably in safety engineering, risk management, occupational health Industrial or Environmental Engineering, or a related field, and/or minimum of 3 years previous experience in HSE management; in manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of OSHA and EPA (state and federal) regulations
• Interpret State and Federal regulations and applicability to facilities to ensure compliance
• Proven ability to drive process improvements, adhere to budgets, and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge and experience with relevant consensus standards such as NFPA and ANSI, and systems such as ISO 14001 is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills, CAPAs, RCAs.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills within all levels of the organization.
• Technically proficient in tools such as (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other EHS Enterprise Solutions. Experience with Intelex, MVP, Alchemy, and Traction Guest is a plus.
• Advanced certification such as ASP, or the ability to obtain certification
