Job summary

Saulsbury Industries in Abernathy, TX is seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Specialist to oversee daily safety activities and provide training to designated personnel. The role focuses on enhancing safety compliance, conducting inspections, and documenting corrective actions in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of safety experience, OSHA familiarity, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ safety experience.
Competitive hourly rate with overtime.
OSHA Outreach Trainer certification preferred.
Familiar with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills (written and oral).

Responsibilities

Ensure implementation of company safety policies and procedures.
Monitor compliance with safety rules and regulations.
Conduct inspections for unsafe conditions and behaviors; document corrective actions.
Participate in Facility New Employee Orientations.
Maintain HSE records in compliance with standards.
Facilitate or coordinate safety training and forward training documentation.
Conduct hazard inspections and apply control measures for hazards.
Investigate incidents and perform root cause analysis as required.
Coordinate Facility Emergency Action Plan procedures.
Ensure proper PPE usage.
Perform regular jobsite inspections of crews and document findings.
Maintain fire extinguishers and first aid supplies.
