Job summary

Powell is seeking an HSE Coordinator in Houston to plan, design and implement occupational safety programs across divisions. The role supports the HSE Manager and Manufacturing Director and excludes sponsorship or relocation assistance.

The position requires conducting safety audits, coordinating training, and leading the Emergency Response Team. Candidates should have a high school diploma and up to two years in an HSE role, with strong MS Office and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required with 0-2 years in an HSE role.
• Familiarity with environmental, health and safety compliance concepts.
• Strong computer skills and ability to manage training programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the HSE Manager with environment, safety and health programs.
• Schedule and conduct weekly safety meetings.
• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly safety audits.
• Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Conduct safety orientation for new employees and contractors.
• Lead Emergency Response Team training (CPR/First Aid & AED).
• Coordinate Emergency Evacuation and Weather Preparedness procedures.
• Generate initial incident investigations and quarterly management reports.
• Monitor adherence to safety programs by employees and subcontractors.
• Deliver safety training on fall protection, lockout/tag-out, confined space, and PPE.
