Hitachi Energy is seeking an HSE Project Specialist to support Health, Safety and Environment activities across project execution in Raleigh, NC. You will partner with site teams, subcontractors, and management to ensure work is performed safely and compliant with HSE requirements.

The role blends field engagement, project support, and cross-functional collaboration, with travel about 30% to project sites. Bachelor's in safety-related field and 4+ years HSE experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental health, occupational safety, or a related discipline.
• 4+ years of professional HSE experience.
• Experience supporting HSE activities in construction, project, industrial, or field-based environments.
• Ability to identify workplace hazards and support risk mitigation.
• Ability to travel approximately 30%, generally to support project sites.

Responsibilities

• Partner with project management teams to review scopes, HSE plans, and subcontractor qualifications.
• Serve as HSE focal point for site, project, and management teams during project execution.
• Monitor project sites and support site managers in maintaining HSE compliance.
• Identify hazards and help develop controls to minimize risk.
• Provide HSE guidance, training, and support to management and workforce.
• Lead accident investigations and root-cause analysis with corrective actions.
• Maintain HSE documentation and progress reports.
• Stay current on regulatory developments affecting HSE responsibilities.
• Represent the HSE function with current and prospective customers.
