Job summary

Maersk Performance Team seeks a Safety Manager to lead safety and health initiatives across facilities. You will develop, coordinate, and monitor programs to reduce accidents and losses.

You will conduct audits, investigations, and training; manage compliance with OSHA and EPA rules; and collaborate with regulators, insurers, and vendors. This full-time on-site role supports Lean safety improvements and culture building.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local OSHA regulations.
• Planning and organizational skills.
• Exposure to Hazmat environments and HAZ facilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce safety programs across facilities.
• Stay current with regulatory requirements; update SOPs as needed.
• Investigate accidents and claims; identify root causes and preventive actions.
• Conduct audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Administer forklift operator certification program and inspections.
• Oversee hazardous materials and environmental management programs.
• Provide safety training materials and communications to staff.
• Promote safety awareness and culture; implement Lean-based safety initiatives.
• Develop wellness programs and health education activities.
• Maintain long-term safety compliance and budget for the program.
• Coordinate with regulators, insurers, clinics, and vendors; host meetings.
• Prepare safety metric reports and benchmark against industry.
