Job summary

Prysmian Group is seeking an on-site Health, Safety & Environment professional to support manufacturing operations in Willimantic. You will participate in safety committees, perform risk assessments, and drive compliant safety practices on the production floor.

A background in manufacturing safety, forklift operation, and training others is required; an Associate's degree is preferred. The role offers growth within a global organization committed to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Participate in site safety committee meetings and actions.
• Complete risk assessments and JSPs as assigned by site HSE (Process, Behavior, PPE, etc.).
• Complete various site HSE floor activities/inspections (e.g., spill control, waste storage, eyewash/shower stations).
• Assist with investigations of accidents/near misses and document in the incident database.
• Coordinate safety training and toolbox talks; log training records.
• Support DEI initiatives and maintain HSE information on Tier Boards.

1st shift: Monday- Friday 8:00 am- 4:00 pm

Key Activities/Responsibilities:

• Participate on/help facilitate site safety committee meetings and actions.
• Participate in/complete risk assessments and JSP’s as assigned by site HSE (Process, Behavior, PPE, etc.).
• Complete various site HSE floor activities/inspections as assigned by site HSE. Examples include, but are not limited to:
• o Spill Control/Storm Water Pollution inspections
• o Hazardous/Universal Waste Storage area maintenance, transportation, and inspections (Satellite and Accumulation Storage locations)
• o Fire Extinguisher/Emergency Exit/Emergency Lighting inspections
• o Eye wash/shower stations inspections
• o First Aid/AED stations maintenance and inspection
• o Spill Kit supply maintenance and inspections
• o Emergency response drills
• o Annual audiometric testing coordination
• o Secondary container labeling (GHS/HAZCOM) audits
• o Lockout Tagout procedure audits/edits
• o LPA Safety Audits
• o Implement safe start and other safe start activities
• o Maintain Environmental tracking
• o Train and manage Irradiation department and be able to obtain an RSO certification.
• o Other Site HSE/BBS audits
• Assist HSE and safety committee in investigations of employee accidents/near miss reporting and documenting in incident reporting database.
• Assist with maintaining floor waste/scrap locations, transportation, and logs/HSEDM reporting.
• Participate in New Hire Safety Orientation sections as assigned by site HSE.
• Assist HSE related floor toolbox shares/refresher trainings with employees and log training records.
• Participate in/reinforce Consequence Thinking/Zero & Beyond training.
• Conduct forklift training/re-certification for site employees as needed.
• Assist with maintaining HSE information on TIER Boards.
• Assist site HSE with ISO 1400 & 45001 initiatives.
• Other various HSE related activities as assigned by site HSE.

Requirement(s):

• Production floor experience in a manufacturing setting
