Job summary

FORVIA is seeking a year‑round HSE Intern for its Fraser, Michigan location. You will conduct risk assessments for equipment and tasks, perform HSE audits, assist with incident investigations, and help develop and revise start‑up work instructions.

You will gain hands‑on experience in PPE selection, lock‑out tag‑out processes, MSDS management, environmental records, and safety training, while collaborating with maintenance and operations in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Health, Safety, Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene.
• Minimum 2.8 GPA and strong written/verbal communication.
• Comfortable in a manufacturing setting and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments for equipment/tasks, assessing health and life risks.
• Perform PPE checks and ensure proper protective equipment is used.
• Conduct HSE audits and plant inspections to verify instructions exist.
• Develop or revise HSE start-up work instructions and lock-out/tag-out placards.
• Maintain environmental logs regarding materials, waste and energy use.
• Assist with incident investigations and injury reporting.
• Support HSE data entry and filing; collaborate with maintenance teams.
