Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking an HSE Field Assistant I in Texas to support on-site safety programs with contractors in the chemical sector. The role focuses on field observations to maintain the highest safety standards for employees and to accompany daily interactions with multiple contractors.

You will ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations, assist with safety trainings, and contribute to incident data analysis to drive corrective actions and safer work

Qualifications

• Strong planning, organizational and follow-up skills.
• Bilingual is a plus.
• Excellent people and process management skills.

Responsibilities

• Make job walks and familiarize with the units you will be working in.
• Ensure that federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules and codes are observed by contractors.
• Assist with move in/out contractor safety training for employee orientation programs.
• Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the client’s workplace during on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.
• Participate in safety observation programs, submit feedback and ensure documents are submitted and tracked accordingly.
• Provide advice and counseling for all compliance regulations.
• Compile, analyze, and interpret incident report data to develop corrective actions to eliminate risk.

This position is responsible for field observations, to ensure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who enjoys the challenges of daily involvement with multiple contractors in the chemical industry.

Requirements

• Make job walks and get familiar with the units you will be working in. Learn the equipment, etc.
• Ensure that federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules and codes are observed by contractors.
• Assist, with plan to implement move in/out contractor safety training for employee orientation programs.
