Job summary

Nordex SE is seeking an HSE Data & Analytics Specialist to develop and optimize digital tools, data systems, and analytics for Health, Safety, and Environmental programs. You will bridge HSE and technology, driving automation, data integrity and reporting through dashboards, apps, and system integrations.

You’ll build HSE apps, automate workflows, support databases, and create dashboards with Power BI to visualize TRIR, LTIFR, near misses, and hazards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, information systems, or related field.
  • 2+ years programming experience or digital system administration
  • Experience with HSE teams or in industrial safety settings (preferred)
  • Power Platform: Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI
  • Experience with HSE software (Incident Management, Intelex, SAP EHS, etc.)
  • Ability to think and analyze in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills; team-building
  • Willingness to pass a pre-employment physical and driving license requirement

Responsibilities

  • Develop custom HSE applications, scripts, and digital workflows (incident reporting, inspection forms, audit tools).
  • Build and maintain automation using Power Platform and internal systems.
  • Support HSE databases for data integrity and performance.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and implement improvements.
  • Create dashboards and reports (Power BI, internal tools) for HSE metrics (TRIR, LTIFR, near misses).
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting.
  • Support integration between HSE systems and HR/operations/contractor platforms (ISNetworld).
  • Manage user access and configuration in HSE tools.
  • Support OSHA/CSA reporting and environmental requirements.

POSITION SUMMARY

As an HSE Data & Analytics Specialist , responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing digital tools, software solutions, automation, and data systems that support Health, Safety, and Environmental programs. This role is responsible for developing and managing digital tools, data systems, and analytics that support Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs. The position serves as the bridge between HSE and technology, driving automation, data integrity, reporting, and decision‑making through dashboards, applications, and system integrations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Develop custom HSE applications, scripts, and digital workflows (e.g., incident reporting, inspection forms, audit tools).
  • Build and maintain automation using platforms like Power Automate, SharePoint, Power Apps, or internal systems.
  • Support HSE databases, ensuring data structure integrity and efficient performance.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and implement improvements.
  • Build dashboards and reports (Power BI, or internal tools) that visualize key HSE metrics (TRIR, LTIFR, near misses, hazard reports, leading indicators).
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting.
  • Support integration between HSE systems and HR, operations, or contractor platforms (e.g., ISNetworld).
  • Manage user access, permissions, and configuration settings within HSE software tools.
  • Support compliance tracking for OSHA/CSA reporting and environmental requirements.
  • Work with HSE Managers, field teams, and operations to gather requirements for new tools or system enhancements.
  • Participate in the development and rollout of digital training modules.
  • Support major projects by creating digital tools for risk assessments, JSEAs, LOTO libraries, and high-risk task workflows.
  • Ensure HSE digital tools follow IT and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
WHAT YOU HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 2+ years programming experience or digital system administration
  • Experience working with HSE teams or in industrial safety settings (preferred).
  • Power Platform: Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI
  • Experience with HSE software (Incident Management, Intelex, SAP EHS, etc.)
  • Must possess the ability to think and analyze situations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative, initiate and manage change, and deliver results.
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills are essential, most importantly strong team‑building skills within a rapidly growing environment.
  • Must be capable of positively influencing the management team when necessary.
  • Independent, detail‑oriented, creative, tenacious, and flexible are essential characteristics.
  • (Not mandatory but highly preferred)
    • Understanding of OSHA/CSA reporting
    • Incident investigation workflows
    • Basic risk management concepts
  • Must be able to pass a pre‑employment physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure the ability to safely perform job functions and meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.

  • Speak and understand English fluently to effectively communicate safety and job-related information, follow safety instructions, and collaborate with English‑speaking supervisors and team members.
The pay for this role is exempt at $75K - $93K USD salary with up to a 10% bonus. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job‑related factors.
