Job summary

Carver Marine Towing is seeking a Health, Safety, Environment and Compliance Manager to oversee fleet safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory adherence for its Staten Island operations. You will coordinate with the Director of HSE and other Carver units to implement best practices and lead marine safety initiatives.

The role requires extensive marine safety experience, strong leadership, and the ability to manage audits, inspections, and training programs across multiple vessels.

Qualifications

• Three to five years’ experience in the marine industry.
• Strong skillset in communication, organization, and collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Marine compliance
• Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite
• Experience with Safety Management Software platforms

Responsibilities

• Manage fleet safety program and drive safety culture.
• Ensure vessels comply with USCG, ABS, and Subchapter M regulations.
• Maintain Helm safety records and compliance documentation.
• Conduct vessel safety and compliance inspections, including pre-vetting.
• Lead emergency response plans and drills.
• Collaborate with insurers and regulatory agencies to enhance safety programs.
• Prepare weekly safety performance reports and findings.
