Job summary

IREN is seeking a Health, Safety, and Environmental Advisor to champion safety across its data center operations. This on-site role partners with departments to ensure regulatory compliance, identify hazards, and reduce risk with practical controls.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree or HSE certification and at least 3 years in construction, utilities, or industrial settings, with travel to regional sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or HSE certification in health, safety, and environment or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of HSE experience in construction, utilities, data centers, or industrial ops.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regs and environmental compliance principles.
• Experience with HSE management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
• Excellent communication and collaboration across organizational levels.
• Ability to identify hazards, assess risk, and propose practical controls.
• Analytical, problem-solving mindset with a consultative approach.
• Experience with permit-to-work, LOTO, and high-risk activities.
• Willingness to travel periodically to support regional sites.

Responsibilities

• Implement and continuously improve the HSE Management System aligned with business needs.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard evaluations, and facility inspections.
• Perform safety/environmental program audits to verify OSHA/regulatory compliance.
• Collect, analyze, and report leading/lagging indicators to drive improvements.
• Participate in incident investigations and root-cause analyses; share learnings.
• Collaborate with Site HSE Manager to set annual health, safety, and training goals.
• Support pre-task planning and high-risk work protocols (LOTO, confined space, hot work).
• Provide safety coaching and onboarding through toolbox talks and training.
• Assist with emergency preparedness, drills, and plan improvements.
