Job summary

Howmet Aerospace seeks a Monoshell Operator for the Hampton, Virginia facility. You will build ceramic molds around wax assemblies and remove wax after the mold forms, supporting the HSC group on 2nd shift (M-F 2pm-10pm).

Training is provided on the 1st shift (M-F 6am-2pm) with a $1.00 per hour shift premium on off shifts. The role requires reading measurements, operating multiple molding and processing tools, and maintaining accurate data records in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Two years of continuous experience or training.
• Availability for all shifts including weekends.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.
• Export-controlled data restrictions apply.

Howmet is currently looking for a Monoshell Operator to join our Hampton Structural Castings (HSC) group in Hampton, Virginia. The available shift hours are 2nd shift, M-F 2pm-10pm.Training is 1st shift, M-F 6am-2pm.

This position will receive an hourly “shift premium” of $1.00 p/hr. while assigned to an off shift.

Job Summary: The HSC Monoshell Operator will build a ceramic mold around a completed wax assembly and to remove the wax once the mold is complete.

Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain mixing equipment, slurry pots, robot, pumps, hoist, hand grinders, boiler-clave, furnace, furnace controller, and various hand tools
• Prepare and setup molds for dipping or dewax processing
• Read and operate measuring equipment and gauges
• Disposition and adjust process variables based on measurements
• Measure, mix, add, apply, empty, and dispose slurry ingredients and process materials
• Inspect, document, disposition and rework molds for damage and process deviations
• Determine order of work and need to perform work based on work rules, priority lists, time calculations, observations and supervision instructions
• Retrieve and put away materials, tools and supplies and cleanup work area
• Mixes plaster powder and water according to specified formula
• Ability to read and follow the information on work instructions
• Record data either manually or by computer as required

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• An application must include a resume and two professional references for review and consideration.
• This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Applicants must have at least two years of continuous experience or training. Recent high school or college graduates without prior work experience must provide a letter of recommendation.
• Availability for all shifts (including 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and weekend shift) is necessary. The ability to work overtime and weekends is required as schedules may vary based on operational needs; flexibility is essential.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
