Our school emphasizes academic excellence through a pedagogy of joy—believing that joy fuels achievement and that students learn best when motivated by curiosity and purpose. We foster a culture of dignity, belonging, and intellectual growth, grounded in tradition yet open to innovation, aiming to prepare students to reach their full potential and engage thoughtfully with the global community.

Requirements

Faculty must be well-prepared academically and highly effective in teaching and curriculum design for a rotating schedule of three 80-minute classes per six-day cycle, plus a weekly tutorial for individual or small group instruction. Proficiency in educational technology and student support is essential.

In addition to core teaching, faculty participate in our Lab Studies program, focusing on inquiry-based, project-driven, experiential learning. There are opportunities to teach courses like World Religions or Introduction to Philosophy, serve as an advisor, and engage in extracurricular activities, fostering a collaborative, professional, and growth-oriented culture.

HS Writing Center Coordinator (75% FTE)
  • Manage the 9-12th grade Writing Center, oversee administrative tasks including budgeting, staffing, payroll, and liaising with faculty, families, and students.
  • Support coverage for absent teachers, develop literary programming, and teach two semester-long writing courses such as Art of Criticism and Speculative Fiction.
  • Serve as an advisor to 10–12 students and teach three sections of Lab Studies annually.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to ensure cohesive student support.
Public Forum Debate Coach (25% FTE)
  • Lead the high school debate team, conduct weekly practices, and prepare students for local, regional, and national tournaments.
  • Create instructional materials, coordinate tournament registration and logistics, and support student participation, including travel and overnight trips.
  • Coach students during tournaments, judge debates, and train parent judges as needed.

Ideal candidates will have over two years of competitive debate experience and coaching or teaching experience, a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred), strong classroom management skills, and a passion for working with students. Experience in writing centers and writing instruction is highly desirable.
