Job summary

Cross Country Education is seeking a compassionate Special Education Teacher (Cognition Impairment) to empower high school students in Dearborn, MI for the 2026–2027 year. You will deliver targeted instruction to a small caseload and lead IEP planning and progress monitoring.

You will collaborate with teachers, service providers and families to support academic and functional growth, while maintaining an inclusive classroom that encourages independence and achievement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with a K–12 Special Education endorsement.
• Cognitive Impairment (CI) endorsement required.
• Experience developing IEPs and implementing evidence-based instructional practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction for a small caseload of high school students with cognitive impairments.
• Develop and monitor IEPs, tracking progress and adjusting instruction accordingly.
• Collaborate with educators, related service providers and families to support academic, social and functional growth.
• Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that promotes independence and student success.
