Job description

Falmouth High School is seeking a long-term substitute teacher for Social Studies for the period between mid-December 2024 to late-February 2025. The ideal candidate will have, or be eligible for, Maine Social Studies teacher certification and have experience working in a high school classroom. The anticipated start date is December 14th, 2024, and this position is tentatively scheduled to end on February 14, 2025. The ending date may be extended, and we are also open to candidates who may not be able to commence until January 2025.

The Social Studies Long-term substitute will:

  1. Instruct five total sections across AP US History, Economics, and Holocaust Studies
  2. Lead one advisory group for grade 11
  3. Supervise Study Hall for grades 9-12
  4. Work collaboratively


Additional:

  1. Pay will be per diem based on the teacher scale at BA, Step 0 ($245.59/day) for a candidate that is properly certified.
  2. Must have or be eligible for Maine CRC (fingerprinting) certification and pass a district-run background check.
